Steve Larosiliere
Steve Larosiliere is the Founder and President of STOKED, an award-winning youth development non-profit that serves youth in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. STOKED uses a combination of action sports (snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing), mentoring, and after-school programs to empower teens to be successful leaders in their community. Since 2005, STOKED has impacted the lives of over 6000 kids.
Through STOKED, Steve’s work has appeared in the Mens Journal, The Today Show, New Yorker Magazine, ESPN, Huffington Post, Nylon Magazine, Fuel TV, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, and Transworld Business. STOKED is also voted to the charity of the week, a Finalist in the Non-Profit Excellence Awards, and named as one of the most innovative nonprofits. Steve was honored as Hometown Hero by Metro NY, received the Community Impact Award by Cricket Wireless, and was named Social Entrepreneur of the Year by the National Black MBA Association. Prior to founding STOKED, Steve served as a recruiter for Mentoring USA in New York City, advocated for youth in foster care, and ran a successful marketing company where he worked with clients such has Sony Music, Reader’s Digest, and Rock the Vote. Steve holds a BA in History from Stony Brook University, was a United Way Senior Fellow, and received his MPA Baruch College’s School of Public Affairs. In addition to participating in action sports, Steve is an avid runner. Steve lives in Chicago with his wife and 3 children.
